Did you ever wonder, why your logs for Bind did not go to the place you specified in your named.conf file? The same happened to me. The solution was to put the logging section at the beginning of the named.conf file!
In your logfiles you certainly found a lot of those "lame server on ..." messages. To get rid of them, try the following in the logging section of named.conf:
category lame-servers { null; };
category cname { null; };
With bind version 9.1.0 I had the problem that no logs were kept any more. It helped when I added the default category:
category default { whatever; };
Wanna prevent bind to give out it's version:
version "surely you must be joking";
IPv6
To resolve IPv6 addresses, you need a AAAA record in your zone config.
raffy IN A 213.144.137.88
raffy IN AAAA 3FFE:800::80
Make sure you configure the reverse lookups for your pTLA, sTLA and pNLA addresses! An example is here.
