This is the command-line I use to get MRTG going with my CISCO 2924XL: 

../bin/cfgmaker --global "WorkDir: /var/www/mrtg" --global "Options[_]: growright, bits" --ifref=nr --ifdesc=alias community@switchip > mrtg2.cfg
